Let's demystify and simplify. So you can make the right mascara choice for you. Because oh how I do love mascara and the magic it works for opening up and defining your eyes.
WAND SHAPE & TYPE
It's not just about the formula. It's about the wand baby. The plastic wands make your life easier. They do a LOT of the work for you. If you're not confident with mascara, definitely choose a mascara that;
a) has a plastic wand, and
b) has a "skinny" or at least tapered wand.
HIGH-STREET VERSUS PREMIUM BRANDS
You don't need to spend a fortune. High street mascaras are as good as, if not better than, a lot of the premium brands. PLUS you do - yes, you do - need to replace mascara very frequently. The official word is 3 months. I still think 3 months is too long as mascara is a bacteria hot-bed. I'll leave that with you.
HOW TO APPLY MASCARA

TO DO THE BOTTOM LASHES .. OR NOT
Mostly I say not. Gasp! Why? It can throw a shadow under your eye - making you look more tired than you actually are. Mmmmmm, probs not the look we're going for?
This is the single biggest road to ending up with blackened under your eyes. If you have really small eyes, yes, it can really open up your eyes.
So if you
✔️ don't tend to rub your eyes a lot
✔️ don't have watery eyes
✔️ don't have dark circles under your eyes
✔️ and you want to really open up small eyes,
then YES, you can have a go at applying mascara to your bottom lashes.
WHICH COLOUR MASCARA?
Choose Black. Always choose black. Don't mess about with brown ... go for black. If you want to bust out of the box, try a coloured mascara. I know some of you may think I've gone mad but remember, it's only makeup. Have fun. Let loose. Coloured mascara is a great way to try colour - when you don't want to look over done or like you've tried too hard.
